Apple's iTunes Offers Movies May 2008
By Robert Lieto
Just recently announced, Apple's iTunes will start offering electronic sell-through of movies from most major studios on the same day the titles are released for DVD. New releases cost $14.99 with most catalog titles $9.99. Movies can also be previewed, purchased and watched on iPod classic, iPod nano with video, iPod touch, iPhone and on a wide screen TV with Apple TV. Apple's move puts pressure on Amazon's Unbox to Microsoft XBox Live Marketplace. New releases available for purchase at the iTunes store include The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Juno, Cloverfield, I Am Legend, There Will Be Blood, Alvin and the Chipmunks, American Gangster, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
