    DVD - To Burn All Formats    May 2003

Verbatim Corporation and Peripherals Group Inc. have unveiled their first DVD burner supporting the four most popular DVD formats, the companies announced.

The Verbatim 4X Producer 44 Dual Format DVD recorder is compatible with the DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD-R formats. It also supports the CD-R and CD-RW formats. 

Peripherals Group Inc., a subsidiary of CenDyne Inc., is the exclusive licensee of the Verbatim's optical hardware products.

"While computer products such as DVD drives were designed to enhance our lives and make our jobs easier, the competing formats tend to confuse users" said Jim Hill, optical product manager for Peripherals Group and CenDyne. "With these new Verbatim 4X Producer 44 dual-format drives, we're taking the guesswork out of DVD recording so our customers are ensured compatibility between their existing home DVD player and DVD-ROM drive, while enjoying the fastest recording speeds available today."
