Just released ..... Movie Beam to SMASH DVD Window. A service called Movie Beam has just been launched by Disney and Cisco Systems. Immediate launch includes 29 cities including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

    The service requires a set-top box  on sale at Best Buy, Comp USA and Sears which includes a 160 GB Hard Drive Recorder, small indoor antenna and remote control. The cost of the box is $ 199.99 with a introductory rebate of $ 50 and a one time activation fee of $ 29.99.

    The service offers 100 movies at any given time and up to 10 new titles automatically delivered each week by over-the-air date casting technology. One night rentals will be offered for $ 3.99 for new releases and $ 1.99 for catalog titles plus an additional  $1.00 for HD movies.

New titles will be released on day and date of DVD release.
