MovieBeam Goes Dark .......   December 2007

Just released ..... Movie Beam having been acquired just nine months ago for $10 Million by Movie Gallery has gone dark or discontinued as described effective December 15. The discontinued service was made in light of the companies ongoing effort to make better its financial performance. Originally founded by Disney Co. and co-funded by Cisco Systems and Intel Corporation for about 70 Million $$.. Movie Beam used over the air data services to load Proprietary set top boxes which allow users to watch movies on demand with no downloading.. The service was available in 31 major cities and featured a revolving stock of 100 movies with 10 new titles added weekly.
