TransWorld / HP Offer June 2007

 By Robert Lieto

Trans World Entertainment Corp and Hewlett-Packard announced they have teamed up to offer consumers customized packaged media. Trans World claims to be the first retailer to use HP's DVD manufactured-on-demand service. It allows a consumer to log onto Trans World's fye.com online store to place orders for $19.99 (excluding shipping) per title, which are processed and mailed within 24 hours. The process gives the consumer access to DVD discs that might or might not be available in the normal venues due to the specific large number runs of discs that fall short of reaching all points before the particular run is exhausted. The service will produce a movie or program regardless of niche or obscurity. Currently targeted are classic and older TV shows, foreign films, specialty genres, sporting events and indie titles.

Our Comment .....  We believe this is a unique and needed service and allows customers to obtain access to special and meaningful product directly which may be out of stock. Good Stuff.
